ABOUT ARTIST
Yong Tae Park makes glazed porcelain art and homeware in the region of Goseong, close to the seaside. From the coast, he salvages shells, earth, and driftwood, which he uses in the making process. The material imperfections brought about by this allow nature to be directly seen and felt in his work, which remains minimal in aesthetics due to the use of white. He says the various shades and finishes white can take on during the firing and glazing process are almost infinite in number.
